Posted by Brantford police’s major crime unit continues to investigate a fatal incident on William Street.
Investigators say a man was found with a gunshot wound after officers responded to a 911 call about an assault and possible shooting.
The victim, 37-year-old Gerald Robert Male of Brantford, was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
A second male in a distraught state was located at the residence. He was interviewed by police and is not a suspect.
