Brantford police are investigating two collisions they suspect are connected and left a woman seriously injured.

On Saturday at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to a major motor vehicle collision on Darling Street at Market Street. A vehicle left the roadway and struck a building.  Officers found a woman in the vehicle who sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, police were also notified of another motor vehicle collision that occurred on Dalhousie Street near Rawdon Street.  A vehicle collided with a city bus and left the area.

Preliminary investigation suggests the two collisions are connected and involve the same motor vehicle.  A 39-year-old Brantford woman was transported by emergency medical services to a hospital in Hamilton with serious injuries. No other injuries have been reported in either accident.

The area of Dalhousie Street between Stanley Street and Drummond Street and Darling Street between George Street and Charlotte Street were closed for several hours during the investigation as members from the collision reconstruction unit processed the collision scenes.  All roadways are now open.

Some witnesses have come forward at the scene, however, the Brantford police traffic unit would like to speak with anyone that has further information regarding this incident. Witnesses are encouraged to contact Constable Jeremy Morton at 519-756-0113.
