Police are investigating after citizens reported finding a needle and a razor blade in pieces of Halloween candy.
Brantford Police Service learned that on Saturday, All Hallow’s Eve, Halloween candy collected in the Brier Park area was reported to have been found with a needle inserted.
Another citizen has since reported finding a razor blade in a chocolate bar given out in Eagle Place.
Police want the community to be aware of these incidents and are reminding parents and caregivers to thoroughly check candy collected from trick-or-treating prior to eating it, and to discard any items which are open and appear suspicious.
The Brantford Police Service is continuing to investigate the tainted candy and ask anyone with information to contact the Brantford Police Service at 519-756-7050.
