Brant County Ontario Provincial Police has charged two people following a violent home invasion in Paris on May 29.
OPP officers responded to a call regarding a robbery with violence at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, on Whitlaw Way.
Police learned two people attended the address and an altercation took place with the victim. During the altercation, a cell phone and other items were taken from the victim and the suspects fled in a vehicle.
With the assistance of Peel Regional Police, the suspects were arrested.
Police have charged Tyler Campbell-Varley, 19, with theft under $5,000, robbery, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, using an imitation firearm while committing an offence, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, possession of a schedule I substance-cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
Police have also charged the Kailar Mellish, 28, of Mississauga with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of fail to comply with recognizance and possession of a schedule I substance-cocaine contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
