A Brantford man who was out on bail at the time of the crime has been charged with first-degree murder after police found a man deceased due to multiple stab wounds at a house on Wayne Drive.
The Perth County OPP reached out to the Brantford Police Service at around midnight on Tuesday about a person involved in a traffic stop their officers executed after receiving a complaint.
As part of the following investigation, Brantford officers went to a residence on Wayne Drive, off Fairview Drive near King George Road and a Highway 403 interchange, where they found a man who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The victim, a 54-year-old male from Brantford, was deceased.
The investigation into the man’s death led to the arrest of a 19-year-old male from Brantford. He has been charged with first-degree murder and failing to comply with bail conditions.
Police say the victim and accused were known to each other and believe there is no risk to public safety.
Because a publication ban is in place, the police are not releasing the names of the victim and the accused.
