A County of Brant man faces charges after two grocery store employees were assaulted.
The County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault by a customer on an employee at the Sobeys grocery store in Paris on Sunday at 2:45 p.m.
Officers learned a customer was being advised of the store rules regarding social distancing when an altercation occurred between the customer and a teenage employee. The OPP said the employee told the accused he had to use a cart to encourage physical distance between him and the other patrons.
The customer then entered the grocery store and a second altercation took place with a manager of the store.
Police have charged George Rutherford, 77, of the County of Brant with assault and uttering threats.
