Two men are wanted for a fatal shooting at a Brantford motel, while two other people have been arrested as part of the investigation.
The Brantford Police Service major crime unit made the arrests as part of the ongoing investigation into the shooting of three men on Saturday at the Galaxy Motel on Colborne Street East at approximately 5:50 a.m.
One of the victims, a 42-year-old Brantford man, succumbed to his injuries. The other two victims, men aged 25 and 26 from Brantford, remain in hospital.
Still wanted in connection with the shooting are Roger Earl VanEvery, 35, of Brantford for murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. VanEvery is described as Indigenous, 5’9″, 170 pounds, with dark hair, brown eyes and a tattoo “13” on his upper right arm. He may be in the Brantford or Hamilton area.
VanEvery is related to Lynn VanEvery, who was murdered at her Park Road residence in Brantford in July 2019 along with her husband Larry Reynolds. Their deaths are still under investigation.
Also wanted on the same murder charges is Shajjad Hossain Idrish, 22, of Hamilton. He is also charged with possession of a weapon for a
dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, carrying a concealed weapon and careless use of a firearm under the Criminal Code.
Idrish is described as middle eastern, 5’7”, 125 pounds, dark hair and brown eyes. He may be in the Brantford or Hamilton area.
The accused should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, do not approach them, contact police or 911.
This incident is not believed to be a random act of violence.
