City of Brantford workers closed off access to River Road south of Baldwin Avenue on Sunday evening after water from the Grand River flooded the roadway.
The water levels of the Grand River have risen several feet since it rained between 40 and 80 mm over the past two days in Brant and Brantford. The Grand River Conservation Authority issued an updated flood warning on Sunday afternoon stating that water levels would continue to rise along the river south of Cambridge, through Brant and Brantford.
Drivers should also avoid taking Birkett Lane west of Erie Avenue as it turns into River Road beside the Grand.
