Posted by A 74-year-old man has died after being hit by a pickup truck on Brant Avenue Saturday evening.
The Brantford Police Service was sent to investigate a serious motor vehicle collision at approximately 6 p.m. The collision occurred in the area of 235 Brant Ave. near St. Joseph Church. A south bound pickup truck collided with a pedestrian attempting to cross the road.
A seventy-four year old male sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Brantford General Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries. Names will not be released until next of kin notification is completed.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 28-year-old male, was not injured as a result of the collision.
Several witnesses came forth at the scene, however, the Brantford Police Service traffic unit would like to speak with anyone that has further information regarding this tragic incident. Witnesses are encouraged to contact Constable Jeremy Morton at 519-756-0113 ext. 2869.
