Brantford Police Service has charged two armed men and is seeking another suspect accused of invading and robbing a home on Monday night.
At around 9 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call about a break-in by three people armed with guns at a Sarah Street residence.
Investigators learned there were four people in the house at the time of the break-in. One of them was assaulted before the three suspects fled the scene on foot. Witnesses say gunshots were fired as the suspects fled.
One of the victims received treatment by paramedics for minor injuries.
Officers and the Woodstock K9 unit tracked down two of the suspects nearby and arrested them without incident.
A third suspect remains at large.
The suspects under arrest are a 26-year-old man from Brampton and a 33-year-old man from Mississauga.
Police say they believe this incident was not a random act of violence.
The Brantford Police Service’s major crime unit, with the assistance of the gun violence task force formed in April, is continuing to investigate this incident. Anyone with information or anyone who may have home security video footage in the area is asked to contact police or contact Det. Kevin Cabral at 519-756-0113, ext. 2206 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
