Posted by Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit will soon be investigating the scene of an incident on Pearl Street in Brantford involving the local police service.
At 12:20 p.m., Brantford Police Service tweeted that “The BPS was involved in an investigation this morning in the area of Pearl St. As a result of the investigation, the SIU has been contacted.”
A spokesperson for the Brantford police said shortly after the tweet was sent that he can provide no further information at this point.
Some people in the area have speculated there was a shooting.
The SIU is an arm’s length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
The SIU has not yet responded for a request for comment.
