The driver of a car that crashed on River Road early Sunday, said to have suffered critical injuries, has been released from the hospital.
Brantford police say the southbound vehicle went off the road, knocked down a hydro pole and hit a tree, causing the 23-year-old male driver injuries believed to be life-threatening around 2:26 a.m. Investigators closed the road between Marlene and Baldwin avenues while the collision reconstruction unit worked the scene for several hours.
The hydro was knocked out for 10 Brantford Power customers. All but three of those customers had power restored by 7:30 a.m. The remaining three require repairs to personal equipment before their power can be reconnected.
Anyone with information about the collision should contact Constable Mark Baxter at 519-756-0113.
