Six Nations Police are looking for two suspects in a shooting at a Fourth Line residence on Saturday.

Police responded to a report of the shooting at 6:32 a.m. to discover a male had been shot in the left leg.

Investigators learned two males in a white Chevy Silverado pickup truck approached the laneway where the 23-year-old victim and a 21-year-old male were standing. After a very short verbal exchange, the suspect passenger produced a firearm and shot the victim. The two males then fled the area in the pickup truck. The second male at the scene was unharmed.

The weapon used was described by witnesses as a large calibre hunting rifle.

The victim was transported to hospital for emergency surgery.

Police located the suspect truck at a First Line residence. The truck was seized by police for further examination. Evidence from the scene of the shooting was also seized.

The firearm used as well as the two male suspects are still outstanding. Police believe that the suspects knew the victim and that this was a targeted attack.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact the Six Nations Police at 519-445-2811 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or http://www.crimestoppers-brant.ca
