Update: Brantford police say this call turned out not to be the scene of any major incident.
Officers had responded to a medical assist call. According to Constable Shane Siebert, officers likely taped off the area out of concern there was more to the story. He said the medical call was not due to a drug overdose.
Siebert said that around the same time callers reported that in the same area a fight broke out involving a group of people that dispersed quickly.

Original Post: Police are scouring a Brantford parking lot but won’t say why just yet.
Officers had taped off a parking lot on Charlotte Street between Colborne and Dalhousie streets about midnight Friday night and parked cruisers, emergency lights activated, around the block.
Officers walked in a line around the lot searching for something with flashlights.
The officer Grand River News spoke to at police headquarters provided no information about the investigation.
