Brantford Police are currently investigating a shooting in the area of Scarfe Avenue off Brant Avenue.
The duty sergeant confirmed a tweet asking people to stay away from that area is connected to the shooting investigation, possibly the same one reported on Twitter by Andrew Collins.

Brantford Police tweeted as follows:
Brantford Police are currently conducting an active investigation on Scarfe Ave. For the time being, Scarfe is closed between Brant Ave and Grand River Ave. Police kindly request that pedestrians and motorists stay out of the area.
Police maintained the closures as of 10:45 p.m., including Grand River Avenue at Church Street.
