Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the serious injuries sustained by a 43-year-old man in Brantford.
Investigators have learned that at approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday, the Brantford Police Service received a call from hospital staff regarding a patient who had left the Brantford General Hospital.
The police received another call regarding a man standing on the top level of the hospital’s parking garage.
When officers arrived, the man fled and then fell to the ground below.
He was admitted to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Three investigators and one forensic investigator have been assigned to this incident.
The SIU is urging anyone who may have information about this investigation to contact the lead investigator at 1-800-787-8529. The unit is also urging anyone who may have any video evidence related to this incident to upload that video through the SIU website.
