Brant OPP conclude investigation into toddler’s death

Brant County OPP has decided not to lay any charges in the death of a two-year-old Burford girl.

On Christmas Day 2018, Foster Butler was hit by a vehicle in the driveway of her father’s house on Highway 53 and seriously injured.
Police officers responded to the emergency call about the collision at around noon along with paramedics.

In a social media post, Foster’s father explained how he was moving his vehicle to allow Foster and her siblings to get into it safely when he accidentally hit her with the vehicle.

Foster was sent to the hospital on Dec. 25, 2018 and passed away due to her injuries on Jan. 1, 2019.

After an investigation involving members of the OPP criminal investigation bureau, west region criminal investigations unit, traffic management, collision reconstructionists and technical collision investigators, the investigators have decided not to lay any charges.
