It’s more than a month too early, but the first true sign of winter is on its way today in the form of several centimetres of snow.
Environment Canada is forecasting up to 4 cm for Brantford and Brant this afternoon, with possibly another 5 cm falling tonight. With gusts of wind up to 40 km/h on Friday, the temperature will feel as low as -7 C with the windchill.
Light flurries are expected over the weekend and Monday. The temperature will hover around freezing for the next few days.
