Posted by Brantford police have charged three men with firearm offences after an investigation on Wellington Street.
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, just after 7 p.m., Brantford Police Service received a 911 call about a disturbance at an address of Wellington Street.
Patrol units arrived at the address, where they were told the parties inside were in possession of firearms.
Officers safely investigated and arrested three males in the residence.
They searched the residence, where they located two firearms: a .40-calibre semi-automatic and .45-caliber semi-automatic handguns.
A 22-year-olld male from Brantford is charged with possession of firearm/weapon contrary to a prohibition order, possession of prohibited/restricted firearm/ammunition, careless use of firearm/weapon/ammunition, tampering with serial number of a firearm, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm/weapon/ammunition and possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.
A 22-year-old male from Brampton is charged with possession of prohibited/restricted firearm/ammunition, careless use of firearm/weapon/ammunition, tampering with serial number of a firearm, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm/weapon/ammunition and possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition.
A 21-year-old male from Brantford who provided false information during the investigation is charged with possession of prohibited/restricted firearm/ammunition, careless use of firearm/weapon/ammunition, tampering with serial number of a firearm, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm/weapon/ammunition and possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, two counts of obstruct peace officer and two counts of fail to comply with recognizance under the Criminal Code.
