Serious crash closes Brant Road

A collision between a car and a dump truck on Highway 24 has sent a driver to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police officers were called to attend the collision near the intersection of Mclean School Road and the highway (also called Brant Road) at 6:35 a.m. on Tuesday.

Investigators have determined a southbound car collided with a northbound dump truck within a construction zone. The driver of the car, an elderly woman, has been transported to local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Highway 24 will remain closed between Glen Morris Road and Howell Road for the next several hours for the investigation.
