A pedestrian sustained serious injuries on Thursday afternoon in Brantford after being hit by a train.
Brantford police say the cargo train was reversing along Clarence Street near the intersection of Colborne Street when it hit someone walking nearby.
The victim, a 40-year-old woman, was sent to Hamilton General Hospital with serious injuries. Police say she is in stable condition as of Friday afternoon.
Clarence Street was closed for several hours while police investigated the collision but the street has now been re-opened.
