Evacuations in progress as Grand River flooding in Brantford: state of emergency declared

Parts of Eagle Place, West Brant, Holmedale and County of Brant have been evacuated as the Grand River pushes up banks and over walls built 40 years ago to stop it.

Emergency services are asking residents to leave their homes as the situation worsen.

“The City of Brantford has declared a state of Emergency due to the ongoing flooding crisis impacting the neighbourhoods of Holmedale, Old West Brant and Eagle Place. Public in those areas are STRONGLY URGED to evacuate immediately. Evacuation Details: bit.ly/2EGBNYH”
